A small but meaningful gathering was held at Women Alive Access Center (an organization that focuses on HIV/AIDS prevention for Women of Color Communities in LA) which features Sharon Mitchell from AIM (Adult Industry Medical Center) and Dr.Annie Sprinkle, post porn modernist fame and the music of Mariko Passion, director of Sex Workers Outreach Project-LA.

On Monday, December 17th, 2007, Sex Workers Outreach Project USA will host the 5th Annual International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers in Civic Center Plaza at 6pm. The public is welcome. Names of those who have been victims of violence will be read, their stories told and they will be remembered with a candle-light vigil.
Every December 17th for the past 5 years, Sex Workers Outreach Project USA (SWOP-USA) has held a vigil in Bay Area cities to call attention to the violence perpetrated against certain women, all sex workers, most of who are only remembered for their criminal status.

Budget Crisis City Prosecutes “Million Dollar” Male Escort Case:
In December of 2005, one of our own Starchild was arrested for prostitutioni in Fremont. He has been working diligently with the court system to make this arrest go away. So far the case is still floating around the court system! We recently held a legal defense fund party.
