Annual Boobies Against Ashcroft March
to Be Held in San Francisco
Topless Protestors Demand
an
End
to Administration’s Moral
Crusade
One year ago, nearly forty men
and women removed their shirts and marched topless in San Francisco
from Van Ness
Avenue and Golden Gate to the
federal
building in protest of the Bush Administrations policies regarding
medical marijuana, prostitution and paraphernalia. Despite the threat
of terrorist attacks, John Ashcroft had been cracking down on sick and
dying patients, adult women engaging in consensual sexual activity and
bong sellers. Today the U.S. Attorney General continues his crusade and
on the anniversary of the first march protestors are planning for a
second one. Stacey Swimme who recently beat indecent exposure charges
levied during a protest in Oakland
for Shannon Williams ( Berkeley schoolteacher arrested for
prostitution) said, “I am marching
because John Ashcroft’s moral attack on American citizens is
unconstitutional. He has gone too far. He needs to stay out of my
medical records and out of my bedroom. I think the American people
agree that there are more pressing issues to focus expensive
governmental resources on, like protecting members of the House and
Senate from ricin attacks or finding out when the next bomb is going to
explode.”
Michael Foley a protestor and
victim of the federal governments attacks on medical marijuana would
like to see Ashcroft gone. “This administration’s
priorities have been all wrong from the beginning. Ashcroft spent
$8,000.00 to cover up art because of his religious beliefs. I thought
that church and state were separate. These guys are using the war on
terrorism to push a right wing moral crusade. We demand that John
Ashcroft: 1) Undrape the statue of justice, 2) stop harassing adults
for engaging in consensual sexual activity, 3) stop arresting sick and
dying medical marijuana patients and 4) keep your laws off
women’s bodies and keep your paws off Roe v Wade.”
