laws

Let me tell you a thing about the laws: they suck big time... I was surfing the net and found a company offering escorts London. If you want to have an escort company, all is legal. Trust me on this matter.

Working from home

Hi Jcmiddl,

Generally, I would agree with you, what happens on private property, behind closed door, between consenting adults should not be the concern of the state; however, I think whenever we’re talking about residential communities, we need to be sensitive to other residents.  Any home-based business that draws a significant amount of customer traffic is likely to be the subject of complaints.  Unfortunately, some clients aren’t always very thoughtful or discreet when visiting and can cause problems with the neighbors.  I’m sure that any potential legislation would meet resistance for home owner and apartment associations.

I’m coming late into this conversation.  What is the petition you are referring to?

Hi Jcmiddl: Thank

Hi Jcmiddl:

Thank you for your post and it’s great to see somebody in Texas posting on here.  I support allowing people to work legally out of their homes, but I also support allowing people to work legally in other settings, such as brothels, hotels, etc.

I’m also located in Texas and I’d love to get in contact with you.  I’m in the Dallas area.  What part of Texas are you located in if I may ask?

In Texas, there have been a couple of major successes through using the court systems.  One of these was Lawrence vs. Texas, which ruled the state’s anti-sodemy law to be unconstitutional.  Another court ruled against the state’s law prohibiting the sale of anotomically correct sex toys, though this is recent and the state can still appeal to the Supreme Court.

If anybody else in Texas is out there reading this, please get on here and chat.

Hello Fellow Texans! Hello All: Just recently found SWOP website, and wanted to investigate further when I read there was a Chapter in Texas. Hello Holly!  In answer to your call for more “Texans out there reading this...” ;)  I’m in the DFW (FTW) area.  Please let me know if you’d like to get in touch; would love to discuss the news / plans for this chapter, and find out more about how I can help.    I read about the recent victories in Texas concerning Lawrence vs State of TX – like the law that made it illegal to carry any sort of wire cutters in your vehicle (for fear you’d rustle someone’s cattle by cutting their barbed wire fences), the State laws making sodomy a crime were archaic, and tended to be abused by those seeking to punish, regardless of whether the parties’ involved acted in public or private, regardless of their age, and regardless of consent.    Have also been discussing and commenting in my blog about the recent court findings that basically negate Texas laws that prohibit the sale of anatomically correct (or otherwise-shaped, but purposefully labeled) sex toys.  The State can still appeal, but it would be to the Supreme Court – the Supreme Court would have to find enough cause to even give audience to the appeal, and the State would be spending an incredible amount of money in order to have its case heard, with no guarantee of success.  Last I heard, this was still very “up in the air” and anyone’s guess as to whether Texas would indeed appeal to the Supreme Court.  Have you, or anyone else, heard any updated info on whether or not they’ll proceed?  this is a subject of great interest to me, as I am also actively trying to promote the sale and use of sex toys constructed with safe & non-toxic materials.  We should at least be able to make an informed choice, and that’s tough, because a retailer / salesperson /clerk can be arrested and jailed just for having & providing the information in a retail setting.    Again, it’s great to be here, wonderful to have found TX chapter of SWOP! Looking forward to hearing from any fellow Texans, & helping in any way I can!   Submitted by Misfit on Sat, 05/17/2008 - 16:16.
