SWOP USA fosters a number of events to highlight issues of concern to sex workers.

The International Day to End Violence against Sex Workers is commemorated across the US and in other countries each December 17.Many groups host candle light vigils. In 2009 in addition to events around the country and the world, SWOP USA worked with local advocates in Arizona to protest the death of Marcia Powell in custody.

On March 3rd chapters and other organizations come together to host parties,  potlucks, shows and other events to celebrateInternational Sex Workers Rights Day. This day originated in 2001 when over 25,000 sex workers gathered in India for a sex worker festival.

In 2009, sex workers and allies in New York City organized a Sex Workers Rights are Human Rights event on December 10, International Human Rights Day.
